Vine Park Cottage is the perfect base for exploring all that North Norfolk has to offer.


Whether you are looking for local shops for groceries during your stay or you can not imagine a holiday without meandering in antique shops or fashion boutiques, you will love discovering the beautiful town centres of Holt, Fakenham, Aylsham, Burham Market, Wells-next-the-sea, full of lovely independent shops, you will find everything from traditional butchers and grocers to exquisite craft shops and arty cafes.


Norfolk has an amazing array of gastronomic restaurants and traditional village pubs serving the best seasonal local foods, there is a comprehensive list of these in our guest information folder in the cottage.  However it would never be a trip to Norfolk without embracing Fish & Chips from one of the two fabulous fish and chip shops in Wells-next-the-sea.


On the 46 miles of the North Norfolk coast, you will find unspoilt, clean, safe and family friendly beaches at Old Hunstanton, Wells-next-the-sea, Holkham, Burnham Overy Staithe, Sheringham, West Runton and Cromer, and the best thing about beaches in Norfolk is that they are great to enjoy throughout the seasons.

Days Out

There are many historic and beautiful places to visit close by including Holkham Hall, Sandringham Estate, Binham Priory the wonderful National Trust Properties at

Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall  and Oxborough Hall.

Take a trip on the wonderful “Poppy line” north Norfolk railway which runs between Holt and Sheringham the views across the coastline are outstanding on this trip.  The 4 mile Wells – Walsingham light railway is a brilliant little train, in fact it is the longest 10 and a quarter inch narrow gauge steam railway in the world.

For the nature lovers amongst you, we have an abundance of wonderful RSPB sites at Snettisham, Titchwell.   Cley-next-the-sea nature reserve and the seal trips to Blakeney Point are an absolute must.

We must never forget Pensthorpe Natural Park which is just 5 miles from the cottage and is an amazing place to visit for all ages.

National Trust

If your love is history the National Trust properties of Blickling Hall, Felbrigg, Oxborough Hall and privately owned Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall, Mannington Hall and, of course, Sandringham House are all within a easy driving distance.

North Norfolk Coast

The stunning North Norfolk Coast is only 7 miles away. With its amazing diversity there is something for everyone you can walk the 46 mile coastal path (or small parts of it). The cycle route of North Norfolk takes you through tranquil and quaint villages with their beautiful churches and traditional Norfolk built brick and flint houses.


Walsingham, well known for both its Anglican and Roman Catholic Shrines, are within 2 miles (the energetic can easily walk).

Norfolk Railway

Leisurely days out are plentiful with the North Norfolk Railway Poppy Line from Holt to Sheringham. Almost a must with its wonderful slow pace and stunning views out to sea.
